Server Choice - PVE - PVP

Right, so we have been having a smallish discussion amongst the officers whether it's best to play on a PVE server or PVP server.
I have reasons to believe that a PVE server might prove to be more enjoyable.

First off, the PVP server in AoC is a so called FFA PvP server. This means that whenever you are outside a town and in the wilderness any other player (or if your unlucky, group of players), may kill you. Heck, if you're really unlucky they might even camp kill you, killing you 10 times in a row. They might even be a higher level than you which makes resistance futile.
However, I'm not all against this kind of system. It works in WoW, but I think that is more because there you always have 2 opposing factions, or teams if you want, that can fight each other. Here there is no such one team vs another team, but rather mayhem.

Now, to the difference of a PvP server and a PvE server - it's not that many.
To clearify, you can do PvP on both server-types. The only difference is that the pvp on a PvE server will be more focused and less random in the sense that its limited to just one FFA zone, namely the Border Kingdoms. To simplify; PvP server means all the "kingdoms" are FFA PVP, whereas in a PvE server it's just one zone.
All the other PvP aspects of the game with sieges, pvp mini-games such as capture the flag etc. are available on both server-types.

Funcom does expect that more players will be interested in playing on the PvE server, hence it being that many PvE servers as opposed to PvP servers. The PvP servers are a rather new idea in the sense of gameplay and can be seen as an alternative for those who are specially interested in "annoying other people". The PvE servers is more as Age of Conan was visioned and designed in terms of gameplay.

As a last addition I'd like to say that we as a guild are going to be leveling up in those early stages - at least untill we reach level 40 and can start organizing the guild and start thinking about City Building and PvP.
In other words, some random kid who kills me while I'm trying to level up will just be a bump in the road toward higher levels.

A side note can be that people reckon that the PvP servers will be filled up with less mature players and WoW-kids.

Now, we have not made a final decision upon the matter yet and would like to hear your opinions. Discuss!

Duckee.

Introduction
eVinco is a multi gaming community built from a group of semi-hardcore gamers. We are an outgoing guild who loves to have a laugh and fuck around but also loves to progress in whatever game we play. Although our members do play many different games (WoW, CoD4, CS:S) we are now focusing our main efforts to AoC and the progression of our Guild. People who can take a joke and love to have a laugh are more than welcome to join.

History
eVinco exploded into life on October 25th 2005. We originally started off as a Call of Duty 2 clan formed from a group of friends who had been playing together for many years in previous games (Call of Duty, Guild Wars). We achieved moderate success within the Call of Duty 2 community and became well known faces in Call of Duty servers. After a year or so of playing Call of Duty 2 we decided to move eVinco and its core members to WoW and start a raiding guild on the server Daggerspine. After successful raid encounters many members grew tired of WoW and began to draw their attention to the soon to be released Call of Duty 4. As soon as it was released eVinco sprang back into life as a Call of Duty clan, again achieving success in the CoD4 community. Soon after one of the eVinco members drew our attention to an upcoming mmo called Age of Conan. After further investigation we decided it would be a great idea to turn eVinco into an Age of Conan guild and here we are eagerly anticipating it’s release!

Join eVinco

eVinco is currently recruiting all classes for Age of Conan. We are currently looking for mature, semi-harcore players (16+) who can enjoy the game for what it is (a game!) and have a laugh and at the same time still manage to progress with the guild in AoC. Our aim at the moment is to get to level 40 ASAP so we can immediately begin building our guild city and continue progressing through the game. We intend to do both end game PvE raids and also PvP siege with a guild battle keep. So if you’re a mature, skilled player who can take a joke or two and think you’ve got it in you to become a part of eVinco, then please head over to the recruitment section
